Achieving goals through habits, based on you identity

Many of us think about changes we’d like to make in our lives. But a lot of them find that it very hard to change. In truth it not changes that are hard but changes to our behavior are hard. It because changes is not an events is a process!!  Whether we want to archive a healthy living life or archive a goal

Changes is a process that start with our self-awareness – awareness of the meaning that underlies the behaviors that we engage in such as unhealthy activities or activities that will not let us archive our goal or objective of the target that we had set.

Self awareness allows one to address the foundation of the issues where every behavior begins. rather than more surface-level things, Which leave the sometimes powerful foundation solidly in place. Insight is the key to unlocking the foundation from which everything else grows.

It will help you to be well aware of all the reasons and history that lead to your behavior and problem that hinder your changes in life in the first place.. Make it a lessons and  learned from pass habit and mistake and used them to make active changes in my life.  A catalyst for positive change.

Second step which is very important in the process of changes is Thinking it is because  One right thought can correct a lot of bad behavior. In short if we want to have lasting change, the beginning point has to be our thought .

Habits based on the identity

The key point for the development of persistent habits is a preliminary focus on identity. Your current behavior - it's just a map of your current identity. What you are now - is the mirror image of the type of person that you think you are (consciously or not). To change your behavior for the better, you need to believe in your self.

Most Goal setting such as "I want to lose weight" or "I want to be stronger." both are excellent, but are very hard to do is your are not giving a clear and specific though in how to archive that goal.  Example "I want to lose 6 pounds" or "I want to squat with a 90-pound barbell." I want to walk for 10 minute each morning .When you have this in mind then your objectives will now centered around our performance or appearance.

Goals for performance and appearance is a  wonderful thing. However, they are - not the same thing as habit. If you have already developed their own type of behavior, then these goals will guide you along. But if you're trying to learn a new type of behavior, I think it is much better to start with a goal based on identity.

Changes by Identity

The inside of the changes in behavior and habits of the best achievements is your on line identity. Every action you take, is driven by a fundamental belief in what is possible to achieve results. Therefore, changing their identity (personality type, characteristic, in your opinion, to you), it is easier to change and their own actions.

The cause of the difficulties in developing new habits is that we eat to achieve targets for the appearance or performance, without changing its identity. Most of the time we seek to results without proving yourself that we have the identity of the type of person who wishes to become. And should be the opposite.

Recipe for Success -------- > Resistant

Change is what you believe, it is not as difficult as you might think. Here are two essential steps:
  1. Decide what type of person you want to be.
  2. Prove it yourself with the help of small victories.

Five examples of how to make this principle work in real life

Note. Impossible to underestimate the importance of starting with an incredibly small steps. Initially, achieving results is not the goal - the goal is to become the type of person who can deliver results. For example, a man who is constantly engaged in physical exercise, has the type of personality that will help him to become stronger. Therefore, we first had nurtured the identity of a person who is regularly engaged in physical exercise, and then go on to increase productivity and improve the appearance. Start the small and believe that the results will come with the development of its search for a new identity.
lose weight

Want to lose weight?

Identity: Become the type of person that is moving more every day.
A small victory: Buy a pedometer. Go walk 50 steps back from work. Tomorrow go 100 steps. A day later - 150. If you do it 5 days a week and add 50 steps every day, by the end of the year going to be doing more than 10,000 steps a day.

Want to become strong?

Identity: Become the type of person who never misses a workout.
A small victory: push-ups on the floor every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Do you want to become a better friend?

Identity: Become the type of person that is always connected.
A small victory: Call one friend every Saturday. If you repeat this with the same people every 3 months, you will become intimate with 12 old friends throughout the year.

Want to be taken seriously at work?

Identity: Become the type of person who always has time.
A small victory: Schedule a meeting with an additional 15-minute interval between them, so you can go from meeting to meeting, and always show up earlier than scheduled.
write a book

Want to write a book?

Identity: Become the type of person who writes 1,000 words a day.
A small victory: Write one paragraph on each day of the week.

What is your identity?

My experience is that if you want to become something better, to prove to himself his own identity - is much more important than to achieve stunning results, especially in the beginning. If you want to motivate and inspire yourself, watch the video on YouTube, listen to your favorite song, do some training in the style of P90X. But do not be surprised if the "burn out" after a week of it all. Do not rely on motivation. You must be a type of person that you want to be. And the first step to this - to prove himself a new identity.

Most people (including me) want to be better this year. However, many of us will set goals based on performance and appearance, in the hope that they will encourage us to do things differently. However, if you want to change, first of all, stop thinking about the results and pobespokoytes on a new identity. Become the type of person that can achieve the goals that you want to achieve. Develop a new habit now, and later will be able to come and result.
